Blake Hoover scored a game-high 13 points, but it would not be enough as West Branch earned their first win at Louisville since 2008.  The Warriors won the contest 48-40 Tuesday evening at LHS.

The turning point came in the third quarter.  Louisville’s Alex Hollifield spinned to the hole to score 2 of his 6 points on the evening and give Louisville a 27-25 lead.  the Leopards would not Beatty's Winter Hoodiesscore from the field again in the period and the Warriors took advantage.  A three-pointer by Dustin Greenawalt and a buzzer beater from the elbow by Drake Lohnes were the key shots that gave West Branch a 32-28 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Carrying momentum into the final period, West Branch went on to build a double digit advantage before coming away with the 8-point victory. Lohnes scored 8 of his team-high 12 points from the free throw line in the final period to ice the victory for the Warriors.  Underneath Kip DeShields added 11 and Jacob Griffith scored 10 for West Branch in the contest as well.

The Leopards hit 4 three-pointers on the evening, two of which came from Joe Crank in the final quarter.  Crank would finish with 8 points on the night for the Leps.  Ronnie Carter and Pavin Parks also hit triples in the contest for the Leps.

Louisville out-fouled West Branch 21-14 which gave the Warriors 15 more shots from the charity stride than the Leopards.  Louisville did shoot 73% from the line (8 of 11), but West Branch’s shots accounted for nearly all of the difference as they hit 58% (15 of 26).

With the loss, the Leps now fall to 3-7 on the season and 1-5 in NBC play.  The Warriors have now taken 2 out of the last 3 in the series, although the Leopards have defeated the Warriors 3 out of the last 4 times at Louisville.
