Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieThe Louisville Leopards Boys Volleyball Team fell in four sets to the visiting Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders 26-24, 5-25, 23-25, 17-25 in their season opener Tuesday Night at Louisville High School.

Sophomore outside hitter Brock Cole led the Leopards with a team high 10 kills. Senior middle blocker Jacob Sanders also finished with 7 kills to go along with 2 blocks. Senior outside hitter Brandon Stanich also registered 5 kills.

The Leopards trailed 8-1 to begin the season and fell behind 19-12 in the first set. Louisville improbably rallied to earn a 26-24 victory in the opening set.

Kent Roosevelt dominated the second set 25-5 to even the match. Then the two teams battled back-and-forth playing to an 8-8 tie at the start of the third set. The Rough Riders then went on a 7-1 run to take control of the game. The Leopards did not show signs of quitting down 24-19 and ripped off four straight points to cut the deficit to 24-23. However, Kent would prevail 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead.

Louisville is now 0-2 against Kent Roosevelt all-time. The Leopards fell to the Rough Riders 15-25, 13-25, 9-25 in their first road match in program history last season.
