Lady Leopards Get Revenge Against Rough Riders 13-6 – Girls Lacrosse
Louisville 13, Kent Roosevelt 6
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team avenged their only 2017 loss with a 13-6 victory over the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders Thursday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville remains undefeated at 4-0 on the season.
Mandy Wesely scored 4 goals, tallied an assist, and won 12 of 21 draws to lead the Lady Leopards. Haley Black, Katie Hollifield, and Marissa Vick also scored a pair of goals each to highlight the Louisville offensive effort.
The Leopards went up 8-3 at the half and scored 4 consecutive goals out of the break to extend their advantage to 12-3. Louisville rolled after that to take the game 13-6.
Maddie Bates, Kloe Mercorelli, and Lana Ulrich also found the back of the net for LHS. The Leopards recorded 5 assists as a team via the sticks of Maddie Kirby, Mercorelli, Wesely, Megan Vesely, and Vick.
Lia Meckel added 8 saves in goal to lead the Louisville defensive efforts. Black and Ulrich also finished with a team-leading 5 ground balls each.
Louisville fell at Kent Roosevelt 17-10 in the opening round of the OHSAA Division II, Region 6 Tournament back on May 17, 2017 to end their undefeated run. They flipped the script to stay undefeated Thursday.
