Lady Leopards Take Down Tigers 4-1 on Senior Night – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team defeated the visiting Howland Tigers 4-1 on Senior Night Monday. Louisville has now won 7 of their last 8 matches overall and improves to 14-3 on the season with the victory.
Both Leopards doubles teams won their matches in straight sets. The #1 doubles team led by Senior Amanda Plaskett and Sophomore Jade Thomas won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. The #2 doubles duo of Senior Carleen Fouts and Sophomore Bailey Menegay took their match by a 6-2, 7-5 count.
Louisville also won two of their three singles matchups. Sophomore Rachel Kibler rallied to win #1 singles 4-6, 7-5, 10-3. Junior Sherilynn Mullett also took #3 singles in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
Howland’s only victory came in #2 singles as Kate Li won 6-0, 6-2 over Leopards Senior Jo Menegay. This was the first ever meeting between the two schools.
Prior to the match Lady Leopards Head Coach Rod Hall honored each of Louisville’s seven Seniors for Senior Night. Those Leopards Seniors included Juliette Alspach, Kylie Bowen, Carleen Fouts, Isabelle (Jo) Menegay, Amanda Plaskett, Isabella Schultheis, and Alexis Wilson. Leopard Nation would like to thank these Seniors for their hard work and dedication to the Louisville Girls Tennis Program and wish them the best of luck in their future beyond high school!
