Canton South rallied to score the final 7 runs of the contest to defeat visiting Louisville 7-1 Tuesday. With the loss, the Leopards fall to 4-6 overall and 4-2 in the NBC.

The lone Louisville run came in the first inning when Stephen Kerzan’s sacrifice fly scored Connor Beatty's Sports Spring 2014 Baseball Shirt 2Zwick. That lead held until the fifth inning when the Wildcats broke loose for four 2-out runs in the fifth inning and another three runs in the sixth inning.

Garrett Yoder had 2 of the Leopards 4 hits as a team. Joe Crank & Jordan Hughes pounded out the other 2.

Canton South was led by Alex Porter with 3 hits, Connor Thomson with 2 hits, and Cody Stickel with a pair of RBIs. Pitcher Kendall Fowler pitched a complete game, gave up no earned runs, and struck out 5.

The Leopards and Wildcats have split the season series in each of the past three seasons. Louisville will look to repeat history when they host Canton South Thursday.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next face the New Philadelphia Quakers on Wednesday, April 23 at 5:00 PM. Varsity & Freshman will be home, while JV will be on the road.

The Leopards JV Squad took the lead in the third inning and never looked back as they won 8-2 over the Wildcats. With the victory, Louisville improves to 7-1 overall and 6-0 against NBC foes.

Louisville mercied Dover 13-2 in 5 innings of Freshman Baseball action Tuesday. With the victory, the Leopards are now 4-2 on the season.

Corey White led Louisville by batting 3-for-3 with 2 doubles, 6 runs batted in, and 2 runs scored. Nathan Mongiardo also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s, Zack Yadrnack scored 4 runs, and Cole Weston also added a pair of runs.

On the hill, Weston gave up just 3 hits and struck out 2 during his complete game victory. The Leopards are now 2-1 against the Tornadoes this season after previously splitting a double header.
