Strong Hitting Not Enough As Louisville Varsity Leopards Falls To Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights

Louisville Varsity Leopards fell 8-4 to Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights on Monday despite out-hitting them six to five. Brock Leghart and Cooper Rice each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Andrew Karhoff doubled, scoring one run, and Breyan Stewart singled, scoring two runs.
Louisville Varsity Leopards tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a home run to left field by Jake Beard, and an error.
Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights took the lead in the top of the third. Brady Wachter doubled, scoring one run, to give Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights the upper hand, 4-3.
Dashel Hemlick earned the win for Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights. The hurler surrendered six hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Blake Johnson pitched four innings in relief for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs while, striking out three and walking one. Tate Aljancic took the loss for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher went three innings, surrendering eight runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking five.
Beard led Louisville Varsity Leopards with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Beard went 1-for-2 on the day.
Stewart provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Karhoff led Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights with two hits in four at bats. Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Nico Cella and Will Givens led the team with two walks each.
