The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team was edged by the visiting Archbishop Hoban Knights 2-1 Tuesday evening at Andy Aljancic Field. With the loss, Louisville drops to 5-4 on the season.

Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Louisville Varsity Leopards. Caden Kortis started the game for Louisville Varsity Leopards and recorded 18 outs.
Kortis struck out 11 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up seven hits and two runs over six innings while walking two.
A sacrifice fly by Grady Falkenstein put Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights on the board in the top of the fifth.
Bryce Johnson doubled, which helped Louisville Varsity Leopards tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.
Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights took the lead in the top of the seventh. Falkenstein doubled, scoring one run, to give Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights the upper hand, 2-1.
Camacho led things off on the mound for Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
Johnson led Louisville Varsity Leopards with one run batted in. Johnson went 1-for-1 on the day. Zander Triplett, Max Roberts, Johnson, and Luke Seaman each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.
Falkenstein drove the middle of the lineup, leading Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Number seven hitter, Camacho, showed the depth of Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights didn’t commit a single error in the field. Matthew Ramsey had the most chances in the field with nine.
Louisville Varsity Leopards will travel to Archbishop Hoban for their next game on Wednesday.
