Girls Lacrosse Pounds Poland on Senior Night 19-1

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse team upended the visiting Poland 
Bulldogs 19-1 on Senior Night Wednesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville finishes their inaugural regular season with a record of 9-1.
Lady Leopards Senior Liz Pugh took over by scoring a Hat Trick in each half to finish with a game-leading 6 goals. Pugh had a Hat Trick before the midway point of the first half and finished 6 for 6 on shot attempts. She also tallied one assist to cap off an unforgettable Senior Night.
Other Louisville Senior contributions included Emily Hollifield scoring a pair of goals and recording a game-high 3 assists. Senior exchange student Sophia Morel also scored her first 2 goals of the season and added an assist.
In goal, Celia Keefe nearly had a shutout until Poland slipped through a goal with only 4:04 remaining. 
Keefe finished with a team record 16 saves at goalie for the Lady Leopards.
All-in-all 8 different Louisville players found the net. Alexa Oberster also had a Hat Trick in the first half and won 6 of 9 draws. Marissa Vick and Mandy Wesely each scored a pair of goals. Katie Hollifield and Megan Vesely also scored a goal each for the Leopards.
The hustle of Regan Thomas helped her cause 2 turnovers on defense for Louisville.
The 19 goals is a season-high for the Leopards and the 1 goal allowed ties their season low. Louisville hit on all cylinders Wednesday and is prime for playoff competition starting next Tuesday when they host the Gilmour Academy Lancers in the opening round of the OLSA tournament.
