Girls Basketball’s Rough Start Leads to Loss Verse Green

Green 48, Louisville 40
The Louisville Lady Leopards fell to the Green Bulldogs 48-40 in the consolation match at the Jackson Holiday Classic Tournament Tuesday evening. With the loss, Louisville is now 4-5 overall on the year.
Sarah Lairson scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Sabryna Benzel also scored 9 points and had 7 boards, Abby Beaver tallied 9 points and 3 assists, and Grace Jackson grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds.
The Bulldogs took a 15-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and played relatively even with the Leopards the rest of the way. Julia Guyton led Green with a team-high 13 points and 6 boards. Tarah McCausland also had 9 points and Madison Jackson recorded a game-high 13 rebounds.
With the loss, Louisville is now 2-3 against Green all-time with the Bulldogs winning the last two meetings. All 5 games in the series have been played at a neutral location with the last 3 being held in the Jackson Holiday Tournament. Green is 2-1 against the Leopards in those three meetings.
