Girls Basketball Opens Up NBC Play With Win at Salem

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the host Salem Quakers 50-26 Saturday Beatty's Grey Long SleeveAfternoon at John A. Cabas Gymnasium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 2-1 overall and starts NBC play with an 1-0 mark.

Sarah Lairson scored game-high 10 points and Danielle Walter scored 9 points to lead the Leopards. Erin Hahn and Alexa Oberster also added 7 points each for Louisville.

The Quakers were led by Helene Shontz who scored a team-high 8 points. Allie Davidson-Church also scored 6 and Leah Menegos tacked on 5 for Salem.

With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Quakers in 12 of their past 13 meetings. Louisville now leads the all-time series 13-6, which includes a 6-4 record in games played at Salem.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Massillon Tigers on Tuesday, December 6. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.

The Lady Leopards JV Team narrowly lost to the host Quakers 42-38 Saturday at John A. Cabas Gymnasium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 1-2 overall and starts the conference schedule 0-1.

Maggie Galentein and Kayla Gibson scored 7 points each to lead the Leopards. Jenna Agnone also scored 5 points and altogether 11 different players scored for Louisville.

Salem was led by E. Exline who scored a game-high 18. J. Hamilton also finished with 12 and A. Hochadel added 6. The Quakers are now 2-0 on the season.
