Girls Basketball Drops Opener at GlenOak 81-33

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball team dropped the season opener to the host GlenOak Golden Eagles 81-33 at GlenOak High School Friday.
Ellie Jackson scored 7 of her team-high 9 points from the free throw line to lead the Leopards. Abby Beaver also scored 8 points and Sarah Lairson added 5 for Louisville.
GlenOak dominated the game from start to finish. They took a double digit 16-5 lead at the end of the first and pulled ahead 37-17 by halftime. The Golden Eagles would then outscore the Leopards 44-16 in the second half.

GlenOak was led by Dai’shona Polk who finished with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds. Also breaking double digits for the Golden Eagles were Da’vina Shelton with 14 points, Mikayla Vance with 11 points, and Micah Rhodes with 10 points.
GlenOak has now spoiled Louisville’s last 4 season openers. The Leopards now trail the all-time series 23-28, which includes an 11-15 mark at GHS.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Lake to take on the Blue Streaks on Wednesday, November 30. JV starts at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
