Freshman Leopards Sink South to Improve to 2-1
Louisville 54, Canton South 45
Carson Davis poured in 20 points and the Leopards hit 9 three-pointers as a team in downing the visiting Canton South Wildcats 54-45 at Louisville Elementary Monday.
After trailing 13-12 at the end of one, the Leopards opened up the second quarter on a 10-0 run. T
he Wildcats would not take the lead again until the final minute of the third quarter at 36-35. Louisville then outscored Canton South 19-9 the rest of the way.
Davis scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half. Zach Fresenko also scored 9 for the game and Gavin Birone added 8. Fresenko, Cole Weston, and Casey Nau each hit a pair of three-pointers in the game.
With the victory, Louisville is now 2-1 on the season. They fell in the opener at West Branch 47-40 before winning on the road at Salem 42-22.
