Rarely ever do you see a 200 yard receiver in high school football, but in this game each team produced one. http://www.facebook.com/JenniferLBolyard/The Quakers Jake Humeniuk also finished with 15 grabs for 248 yards and scored Salem’s final touchdown on a 1 yard pass from Quarterback Mitch Davidson with 11 seconds left in the game.

Runningback Cooper Bezeredi scored the Quakers first three touchdowns on runs of 8, 5, and 4. He finished as Salem’s leading rusher with 18 rushes for 67 yards. Davidson ended his night 24 of 45 through the air for 318 yards but also threw 3 interceptions.

Defensive Back Sean McKinney recorded the Leopards final takeaway by intercepting a pass on the Louisville 2 to halt a threatening Quaker third quarter drive. The first of Adams 2 interceptions also came deep in Leopards territory on Salem’s opening drive. Adams picked off a pass at the 6 yard line and returned it 34 yards to the Louisville 40 to setup the Leopards first scoring drive.

Louisville would go up 14-0 before Salem found the endzone late in the first quarter ended. The Leopards answered back with 3 straight touchdowns to open the second quarter. Runningback Gavin VanZant pounded in from a yard out on their second score of the quarter. VanZant finished with 8 carries for 48 yards.

With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Quakers in 8 straight meetings including the last 4 at Reilly Stadium. Louisville now leads the all-time series 9-2, which includes a 4-2 mark at Salem. The 73 points is the highest combined point total in the head-to-head series eclipsing the previous mark of 69 points in 2012 at Salem (Leopards 43, Quakers 26) and 2013 at Louisville (Leopards 41, Quakers 28).
