Louisville Edges Field 5-4 in Scrimmage – Baseball
Louisville 5, Field 4
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team edged the the visiting Field Falcons 5-4 in a 6 inning scrimmage Tuesday Evening at the Field of 
Dreams. With the victory, Louisville evens their preseason record to 1-1.
Brendan Hoffman led the Leopards by batting 2-for-3 with a 2-run single in the first inning and a go-ahead RBI double in the third inning. Corey White also went 2-for-3 at the plate and tripled home Nathan Mongiardo for the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth.
Mongiardo knotted the game two batters before when he singled to center. Tyler Adams stole second base and then scored on the hit to make it 4-4.
Louisville banged out 10 hits for the scrimmage, while holding Field to just 3. Cameron Prasco and 
Jordan Shearer also had a pair of hits each.
Carson Davis pitched the first three innings for the Leopards and struck out 3. Mongiardo also worked two scoreless frames in relief and Eddie Budinski picked up the save by shutting out the Falcons in the sixth.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Hiland for a scrimmage with the Hawks on Thursday, March 23 at 5:00 PM. JV will be home against Hiland and Freshman will be hosting the Boardman Spartans at the same time.
