Leopards Boys 4×800 Relay Finishes as State Runner Up – Track and Field
The Louisville Leopards Track and Field Team competed at the OHSAA Division I State Championship Meet Friday and Saturday at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Leopards competed in 2 relay and 4 individual events.
Louisville was led by their Boys 4×800 Meter Relay team that ran a school record time and finished as State Runner-ups. The team of Zach Fresenko, Noah Chaplik, Noah Murray, and Nick Chaplik finished with a time of 7:41.14, which eclipsed their own LHS record set last week at the DI Youngstown Regional (7:48.87). Thomas Worthington, who claimed the Boys Team State Championship, finished just 1.28 seconds ahead of the Leopards in the 4×800 Relay (7:39.86).

Individually, Fresenko finished 8th in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 9:21.43. Nick Chaplik also finished 9th (4:12.67) and Noah Chaplik 10th (4:13.33) in the 1600 Meter Run to round out the Boys highlights.
Morgan Cole led the Lady Leopards by placing 13th in the 3200 Meter Run (11:18.02). Cole also anchored the 4×800 Meter Relay team that took 16th. Kayla Gibson, Cassidy Kiko, and Grace Collins were also part of the 4×800 Meter Relay team that clocked a time of 9:43.59.
