Meyer Wins Twice as Lady Leopards Finish 6th, Boys 7th at Dave Clegg Invitational – Track & Field

The Louisville Leopards Track and Field Teams competed against seven other schools at the Dave Clegg Invitational held at North Canton Memorial Stadium Saturday. The Lady Leopards scored 57.5 points to finish sixth. The Louisville Boys tallied 54 points to place seventh.

The Louisville High School Girls Track Team turned in a strong all-around performance at the Dave Clegg Invitational, finishing 6th place overall in a competitive field. Massillon Perry claimed the team title, while host school North Canton Hoover finished as runner-up.
Leading the way was Kylah Meyer, who delivered a standout distance double victory. Meyer claimed 1st place in the 1600 meters with an impressive 5:22.23 and followed it up with another 1st-place finish in the 800 meters, clocking 2:24.92. She also contributed to the 4×800 relay team alongside Peyton Novosel, Maddy Bailey, and Stella Blommel, which placed 3rd overall in 10:35.27.
The hurdles crew also made a big impact. Reese Riley earned a 3rd-place finish in the 300 hurdles (52.3) and added a 5th-place finish in the 100 hurdles (18.56). Izzy Manko contributed in both hurdle events as well, placing 9th in the 100 hurdles and 10th in the 300 hurdles.
In the middle-distance events, Peyton Novosel placed 6th in the 800 meters, while Maddy Bailey added a 9th-place finish in the 1600. Stella Blommel rounded out the distance highlights with a 10th-place finish in the 3200 meters.
Relay teams showed depth throughout the meet. The 4×200 relay team of Haley Samuels, Bailey Cole, Taydem Everhart, and Savannah Britzman finished 7th, while the 4×100 team (Haile Folk, Izzy Manko, Kensington Rode, Mickey Salmons) also placed 7th. The 4×400 relay squad of Peyton Novosel, Mickey Salmons, Kylah Meyer, and Reese Riley capped the day with another 7th-place finish.
In the field events, several athletes secured top-10 marks. Mariya Ott led the way with a 4th-place finish in pole vault, while Taydem Everhart placed 6th in the same event. Haile Folk earned 5th in the long jump, and Khali Miller added an 8th-place finish in the high jump. In the throws, Lilly McQuade placed 9th in discus, while McKynzee Riley took 10th in shot put.
Overall, the Louisville High School Girls Track Team showcased its depth and competitiveness, highlighted by multiple top-three finishes and a strong presence across nearly every event.
The team will look to carry that momentum into a busy week ahead, beginning with a dual meet against New Philadelphia on Tuesday, followed by the Lake Rock’em Relays on Friday.
