Carrollton Takes Command of NBC, Defeat Leps 70-51

Carrollton 70, Louisville 51

Carrollton outscored visiting Louisville 22-7 in the fourth quarter to turn a close contest into a 70-51 victory. With the loss, the Lady Leopards are now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the NBC.

After trailing 48-34, Louisville used a 10-0 run at the end of the third quarter to cut the deficit to four. Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey HoodieThe run was capped off by Hollyann Mullett’s buzzer beating three-pointer. Mullett would finish with a team-high 18 points and 4 steals.

Louisville got as close as 48-46, but Carrollton took command of the game after that. The Warriors hit 9 of 15 free throws in the final period to seal the game. The charity stride proved to be the difference in the contest as the Leopards led in fouls 20-10. Carrollton finished 23 of 32 from the line for the game compared to Louisville finishing 8 of 14.

The Warriors were led by Ali Poole with 20 points & 8 steals, Kelsey Voll with 17 points & 6 rebounds, Savana Lowery with 11 points & 5 rebounds, and Monica Starre with 10 points & 4 steals.

In addition to Mullett’s performance, the Leopards were led by Rachel Zeller with 10 points, 6 rebounds, & 4 steals, Abby Beaver with 8 points, and Sarah Lairson with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Even with the result Louisville still leads the all-time series 34-18 which includes a 15-11 at Carrollton. The Warriors have now defeated the Leopards in two straight meetings, a feat they have not accomplished since 2002-03.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Canton South Wildcats on Saturday, December 14. JV will begin at 12:00 and Varsity will follow after at about 1:30.

Danielle Walter poured in 13 points to lead the Lady Leopards JV Squad to their first victory of the season. Louisville won he contest 36-28.

The Leopards hit 5 three-pointers in the first quarter in taking a 17-8 advantage. Alexa Oberster and Emily Shea both hit a pair of triples and Hailey Miller added the other. Oberster would finish with 8 points and Shea with 6 for the game.

The Lady Leps are now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the NBC.
