Beatty's Sports Football 2018 Schedule Shirt T-ShirtThe Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team competed at the Brecksville Invitational Holiday Tournament at Brecksville High School Friday and Saturday. Louisville finished with 125.5 total points to place 7th out of a field that included 51 teams.

Garett Lautzenheiser (120) and Blake Robbins (220) both placed 2nd to lead Louisville. Other Leopards placing included Jax Leonard (152) taking 5th, Davin Rhoads (126) coming in 6th, and Brent Paulus (195) finishing in 7th.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdLautzenheiser recorded two pins, scored a team-high 29.5 points, and won his first 5 matches en route to advancing to the 120 championship. Lautzenheiser won by fall in 5:28 against Tyler Conley (Avon) in the quarterfinal match and then earned a 19-10 major decision over Gavin Ritter (Wauseon) in the semifinals. He was only outdone by Jake Canitano (Solon) in a hard fought 2-0 loss in the first place match.

Robbins started the tournament with a bye before winning four straight matches to advance to the championship. He scored 24 team points and earned his first victory by fall. Robbins defeated Josh Bever (Ashland) by a 7-3 decision in the quarterfinal before earning a thrilling 2-1 tie breaker decision over Brendin Yatooma (Detroit Catholic Central). In the first place match, Robbins would fall in a 7-4 decision against Tyler Stein (Canfield) to place second.

Leonard also had a bye in the opening round, won his next two matches by fall, and defeated Nick Burgard (St. John) 4-1 in the quarterfinals. Leonard dropped a 9-3 decision in the semifinals to eventual champion Cameron Amine (Detroit Catholic Central), but would eventually place 5th after a 15-3 major decision against Noah Ewen (Perrysburg)

Rhoads finished 4-3 for the tournament. He bounced back from a close 6-5 quarterfinal defeat against Dylan Shawver (Elyria) with two straight decisions in the consolation rounds. Rhoads would fall in the 5th place match to Conor McCrone (Lake Catholic) to take 6th.

Paulus went 5-2 during the tournament. After winning by decision, he fell in the third round 9-1 to Jake Loar (Tuslaw). However, Paulus responded by pinning his next 3 consolation match opponents. Later he would earn a hard fought 5-4 decision over Colin McNamara (Aurora) to finish in 7th.
