Boys Soccer Erupts in 2nd Half to Fly Past Aviators 3-0

Louisville 3, Alliance 0

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team shutout the visiting Alliance Aviators 3-0 Tuesday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville is now 4-8-1 overall and 2-4 in the NBC.

All three Leopards goals came in the second half. After a hard fought, scoreless first half Mitch Perez Beatty's Sports Nothing is Given Shirt Full Size Adbeat the charging Alliance Goalie to the ball and booted it into the open net to give Louisville the lead just two minutes into the second half. Perez’s goal came via a pass from Micah Storlie.

After more physical soccer action, the Leopards added two more goals in the final 7:17. The first came when Bailey Adams pooched a corner kick off of an Aviator defender and into the net. Next, Matt Perez assisted Derek Zeller’s goal with 3:40 remaining. Perez kicked the ball in mid-air to beat the Alliance defender and the pass ended up at the feet of the charging Zeller. With a clear size advantage over the trailing defender, Zeller dribbled toward the goal and fired a shot into the back of the net.

The victory is Louisville’s second over Alliance since 2004. The Aviators dropped to 3-9-1 overall and an even 3-3 in the NBC.
