Boys Soccer Doubles Up Devils to Conclude Preseason
Louisville 2, Crestwood 1
The Louisville Leopards doubled up the visiting the Crestwood Red Devils 2-1 in their final scrimmage at Louisville Leopards Stadium Tuesday Evening. With the win, Louisville finishes the preseason with a record of 3-1-1.
Derek Zeller helped create both of the Leopards goals in the first half. On the first score, the Crestwood
defender misplayed a pass and Zeller stormed in to belt the ball into the back of the left side of the net to put Louisville up 1-0.
On the second score, Zeller won a pass from teammate Hunter Foley at the top of the penalty box. He dribbled to the right and booted a shot off the defending Red Devil goalie. Mitch Perez was there for the rebound and he banged the ball into the top of the net to make it 2-0.
Crestwood would score midway through the second half to cut the Leopards lead in half. However, excellent defense led by Jarrett Zwick, who was seemingly everywhere, helped Louisville preserve their advantage and the victory,
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next open up the regular season against the North Olmsted Eagles on Saturday, August 22 at 2:30 PM. The game will be held at the Columbus Crew’s Mapfre Stadium as part of the Friday Night Futbol Initiative.
