Boys Golf Now Tied for 1st After Senior Night Win

Louisville 164, Marlington 173

The Louisville Leopards Boys Golf team earned a 164-173 Senior Night Victory over the previously undefeated visiting Marlington Dukes at Skyland Pines Golf Club Tuesday. With the win, Louisville is now 9-1 overall and is tied with Marlington atop the NBC Standings with a 9-1 conference record.

Seniors Matt Eddins and Mac Hanson each shot a team-low 39 to lead the Leopards. Senior Nick Fawver also finished with a score of 41, Caleb Prasco rounded out the scoring with 45, and Senior Ryan Schleig finished by shooting a 51 for Louisville.

The Dukes (9-1, 9-1) were led by Zach Owen who shot a match-best 37. Also scoring for Marlington were Trent Weigand 42, Augie Warner 45, and Quentin Rock 49.

The victory avenges the Leopards only loss of the season. Louisville has taken 2 out of the last 3 matches against Marlington overall. The Leopards will compete at the NBC Tournament on Thursday at Alliance Country Club. There they will be seeking their first back-to-back conference title since 2007 and 2008.

Prior to the match, Louisville honored their four Seniors Matt Eddins, Nick Fawver, Mac Hanson, and Ryan Schleig.
