Boys Freshman Basketball Advances to NBC Title Game
Louisville 47, Minerva 27
The Louisville Leopards Boys Freshman Basketball team downed the host Minerva Lions 47-27 in the NBC Tournament Semifinals Monday Evening at Minerva High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 20-2 overall and 16-0 against NBC competition.
Cameron King hit 3 of the Leopards 8 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points. Kaleb McCartney also hit 3 triples & scored 13 and Max Hartline added 5.
Louisville stormed out to a 21-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. They would edge Minerva in the final three quarters 26-24 to take the contest.
The #4 Seed Lions were led by Reece Catlett who scored a team-high 12 points and Alex Kimble who tallied 5.
The Leopards will take on the #2 Seed Quakers on Thursday in the NBC Championship Game. Salem edged #3 Seed Alliance 44-41 in overtime in the Semifinals on Monday. The Quakers are currently 16-3 on the year with 2 of their 3 losses coming to Louisville. The Leopards defeated Salem at Louisville 49-29 back on November 30 and also won at Salem 44-35 back on December 28.
On Saturday, the Leopards also took down the #8 Seed Carrollton Warriors 69-30 in the NBC Quarterfinals.
UP NEXT: The top seeded Leopards will next take on the #2 Seed Salem Quakers in the NBC Championship at Minerva High School on Thursday, February 4 at 6:00 PM.
