Boys Basketball Falls to Canton McKinley in Opener

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the visiting Canton McKinley Bulldogs 84-
60 in the season opener Friday at Louisville High School.
Senior Forward Chris Libertore scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Leopards. Jared Mathie also dropped in 9 points and Brody Hahn, Max Hartline, and Derek Zeller all scored 5 each.
The Bulldogs never trailed during the contest and jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the outset. Louisville would get no closer than 21-19 the rest of the way and Canton McKinley would make a stunning 21 of 21 free throws to keep the game out of reach.

Eleven different Bulldogs scored during the game with three reaching double figures. Deontae McCollum finished with a team-high 16 points to lead McKinley. Darryl Straughter also scored 15 and Isaiah Smith added 10.
This was the first time the Leopards have ever hosted the Bulldogs in their history. Louisville is now 1-8 against Canton McKinley with the loss.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Green to take on the Bulldogs on Tuesday, December 6. JV will start at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
