Boys Basketball Earns Road Win at Massillon

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated the host Massillon Tigers 71-55 at Washington High School Tuesday Night. With the win, Louisville improves to 3-1 on the season.
Drew Noble led the Leopards with game-highs of 19 points and 16 rebounds. Chris Libertore also dropped in 15 points, Jake Pukys scored 12 points, and Brody Hahn & Jake Adams combined for 9 assists.
Massillon got off to a fast start in taking an 8-3 advantage just 84 seconds into the game. However, it would be their last lead of the game as Louisville answered with a 10-0 run and never looked back. The Leopards won the battle on the boards 28-17 and out-shot the Tigers from the field 62% (24 of 39) to 37% (22 of 59). Louisville also made 5 of 11 three-pointers (46%) and hit home 18 of 26 free throws (69%).
Massillon (2-1) was led by Todd Broyles who tallied a team-high 16 points. Brenden Trammell also scored 11 and Jacoby Sims added 9 for the Tigers.
Tuesday’s matchup was the first time Louisville and Massillon met on the court in Boys Basketball since 1984 and the first time the Leopards defeated the Tigers since they won 74-66 back on February 12, 1982. With the win, Louisville now trails the all-time series 5-14 with a 2-6 mark at Massillon. The only other time the Leopards won at WHS was a 72-60 victory over the Tigers on January 17, 1975

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Alliance Aviators on Friday, December 18. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
