Blue Blanks White in Leopards Football Intrasquad Scrimmage

The Louisville Blue Squad blanked the Louisville White Squad 3-0 in the annual Leopards Intrasquad 
Scrimmage Saturday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
The Blue Team drove down to the White 26 on the opening drive. On the final play of their first possession a wide open Cole Weston nearly caught what would have been a sure touchdown. The ball tipped off his fingertips and fell incomplete giving the ball back to the White Team.
Weston would instantly redeem himself. On the White Squad’s first play from scrimmage, Weston intercepted a pass and took it 32 yards to the house to give the Blue Squad a 1-0 advantage.

Neither team scored on the next three possessions. White’s next two possession stalled around midfield. Blue’s next possession ended when Max Hartline made a leaping interception at the White 24.
Next, Blue took over on their own 45 and immediately moved the ball into White territory via an 18 yard run by 
BJ Singer. Five plays later, Corey White made a 14 yard grab to set up a goal-to-go from the White 9. On 4th-and-Goal from the 3, Quarterback Jared Mathie lobbed up a pass into the back right corner of the endzone and 6’2 Wide Receiver Jack Davis hauled it in for the score.
Later on, the same combination would hook up to setup another Blue touchdown. Mathie threaded the needle on a 35 yard completion caught by Davis in traffic at the White 1 yard line. Runningback Casey Nau would punch it in up the gut on the very next play to make it 3-0.
White would also intercept a pass for the Blue Squad on the final play of the game to ice the win.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Lake Blue Streaks in a scrimmage on Saturday, August 13 at Louisville Leopards Stadium. Freshman begins the day at 8:30 AM and Varsity will follow around 10:00 AM.
