My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe #2 ranked Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team rocked the #7 ranked Beaver Local Beavers 53-12 in a rematch of last year’s Dual Team Tournament Regional Championship Thursday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville remains unbeaten at 8-0 on the season.

Devon Salsberry (152) and Logan Krulik (160) both earned decisions to give the Beavers a 6-0 advantage at the start of the match. Salsberry (ranked #11 in 145) wrestled up a class to blank Daniel Kennedy (#12 ranked in 152) 1-0 in the opening bout. The Krulik (#4 ranked in 160) then won by 9-3 decision over Brenden Severs (#9 ranked in 160).

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe Leopards roared back by winning the next 10 matchups in scoring 53 consecutive points. Jax Leonard (#2 ranked in 170) got Louisville on the board with a pin of Skyler Lasure (#6 ranked in 152) in just 1:06. In a rare battle of unranked wrestlers, Noah Peterson (182) edged out Alex Solansky 1-0 to give LHS their first lead at 9-6.

The Leopards quickly turned a close match into a rout as they followed Peterson’s decision with four consecutive pins. Brent Paulus (#3 ranked in 195) needed just 26 seconds to make quick work of Nicholas Wukotich. Blake Robbins (#6 ranked in 220) and Cameron Brazek (#20 in 285) both won by fall in the first period. Dominic Hoffarth (#4 ranked in 106) concluded the string of pins by dropping Kayden Bobby in only 18 seconds to put Louisville ahead 33-6.

Then Lacey Harvey (120) earned a 5-2 decision and Garett Lautzenheiser (#1 ranked in 120) moved up a class to win by forfeit in 126. Top ranked Davin Rhoads (132) pinned John Woodburn in the second period (3:36) to end the Leopards run of 10 straight matches won in giving them a 53-6 lead.

Beaver Local ended the match just as they had started it with back-to-back decisions. Logan Ours (#5 ranked in 132) doubled up Carter Mickley (#18 ranked in 138) 4-2 in the 138 match. Jonathan Potts (#11 ranked in 145) shutout Logan Vanicek (#2 ranked in 145) 5-0 to conclude the match.

The Beavers defeated the Leopards in all three of their meetings over the previous two seasons. But this DII Regional Championship rematch belonged to Louisville on Thursday.
