Louisville Blasts Beachwood 17-0 in Opening Tournament Game – Girls Lacrosse

The 5th Seed Louisville Leopards Girls Lacrosse Team blanked the visiting 18th Seed Beachwood Bison 17-0 in the second round of the OHSAA Division II, Region 6 Tournament Thursday Evening at Mount Union Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 14-1 on the season and advances to play the winner of #4 Gates Mills Hawken/#14 Kent Roosevelt in the Regional Quarterfinals Saturday.
Mandy Wesely scored 5 goals and won 8 of 12 draws to lead the Lady Leopards. Marissa Vick also scored 4 goals and recorded 2 assists for Louisville.
The Leopards dominated from start to finish as 7 different Louisville players scored goals. Katie Hollifield, Kloe Mercorelli, and Megan Vesely all scored 2 goals a piece. Maddie Bates and Camryn English had the other scores for LHS. Haley Black also had 2 assists and Hollifield tallied an assist.
Goalie Lia Meckel finished with 6 saves to lead Louisville on defense. Kristen Flinner and Amanda Vesely also recorded a team-leading 3 ground balls.
