Baseball Wins Scrimmage on “Walk-Off” Vs. Green

Louisville 10, Green 9, 8 Innings

Nick Harsh walked with the bases loaded to score Tyler Croxton in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Beatty's White Leopards HatLouisville Leopards past the visiting Green Bulldogs 10-9 in an 8-inning scrimmage Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville is now 1-0 in the preseason.

Brock Haren led the Leopards by batting 2-for-4 with a double & 2 runs batted in. Stephen Kerzan also went 2-for-3 at the dish with a pair of doubles & 2 runs scored and Tyler Adams batted 2-for-4 with a triple.

The Bulldogs scored five runs in the first inning, but the Leopards answered back to cut the deficit to 6-5 at the end of the second. Green would jump back on top 9-6 before Louisville would score the final 4 runs of the contest.

The Leopards got three of those runs in the bottom of the eighth. Jake Adams singled to left to start the frame and that’s all the hits Louisville would need. Six of the next 7 Louisville batters either walked or were hit by a pitch.

Croxton and Kerzan worked scoreless innings on the mound for the Leopards in the seventh and eighth. The comeback gave Kerzan the victory on the hill.

UP NEXT: The Leopards JV & Varsity will next host the Massillon Tigers in a Scrimmage on Thursday, March 17 at 4:30 PM.

The Leopards JV Baseball team rallied for a 6-2 scrimmage victory over the visiting Bulldogs Wednesday Evening at LHS. With the victory, Louisville is now 1-0 in the preseason.

Cameron Prasco cracked a 2-run double and Brandon Wahl batted 2-for-4 with a double & 2 runs scored to lead the Leopards. Brendon Hoffman, Drew Doerschuk, and Bryce Zuppe also had RBI singles as part of a 5-run Louisville fifth inning.

On the hill, Prasco and Jordan Shearer sent down 3 batters a piece. Cameron Lingle and Bryce Zuppe each notched a pair of strikeouts as well.
