Baseball Ties Massillon 3-3 in Scrimmage
Louisville 3, Massillon 3, 8 Innings
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team tied the visiting Massillon Tigers 3-3 in an 8-inning 
scrimmage Thursday Evening at LHS. With the tie, Louisville is now 1-0-1 this preseason.
Tyler Adams batted 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs to lead Louisville. His RBI single in the bottom of the seventh brought home Tyler Croxton for the game-tying run.
On the hill, Nathan Mongiardo and Casey Nau combined to keep the Massillon bats silent in the ensuing eighth. Mongiardo also worked a scoreless seventh and Paul Howard pitched two scoreless innings early on.
The Tigers notched two runs in the second inning, but the Leopards answered back in the fifth. Dalton 
Deckerd and Brody Hahn started the frame with back-to-back singles. Then Trevor Burk walked on four pitches in the next at-bat to load the bases.
After that, Adams was hit by a pitch bringing home Deckerd. Stephen Kerzan also showed patience at the plate in drawing a walk two at-bats later. That brought Hahn home to tie the game at 2-2.
Kerzan also cracked a double in the first inning for Louisville’s only extra base hit of the game. Corey White had the only other hit for the Leopards.
UP NEXT: The Leopards Varsity will next travel to Jackson to take on the Polar Bears on Monday, March 21 at 4:30 PM. JV & Freshman will host Jackson at the same time.

The Leopards JV Baseball Team was edged by the visiting Tigers 6-5 in scrimmage play Thursday, With the loss, Louisville is now 1-1 in the preseason.
Jack Davis cracked a 2-run single in the second inning to give Louisville a 2-1 lead. However, the Leopards would manage just one hit the rest of the way when Drew Doerschuk singled in the sixth.
Cameron Lingle and Brandon Wahl also each recorded an RBI. Davis and Wahl both pitched a scoreless inning in relief on the mound as well.
