Baseball Swept in Double Header at GlenOak
GlenOak 8-11, Louisville 1-3
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team dropped both games in their double header at GlenOak’s Joe Gilhousen Field Saturday. The Golden Eagles took the first game 8-1 and also won the second contest 11-3. With the losses, Louisville falls to 1-3 on the young season.
Game 1: GlenOak 8, Louisville 1
The Leopards only run came after they loaded the bases in the third inning. After an out to start the frame, Louisville batters drew 3 walks in 4 at-bats. Then Brody Hahn was hit by a pitch on a 1-0 count bringing home Cam White from third. That tied the game at 1-1
Anthony Curati pitched 6 innings, gave up just 1 earned run on 3 hits, and struck out 6 in earning the victory for GlenOak. White’s single to start the fourth inning was the Leopards only hit off the Junior Starter. Michael Cook also worked a scoreless seventh inning for the Golden Eagles despite giving up hits to Hahn and Jake Adams.
At the dish, GlenOak was led by Nick Klenner who batted a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, 2 RBIs, and a run scored. Stone Kaufman also batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs batted in and Tyler Barker went 2-for-3 & drove in a run.
Game 2: GlenOak 11, Louisville 3
In Game 2, the Golden Eagles scored 11 runs in the first two innings to put themselves in the driver’s seat. The Leopards would shut them out the rest of the way, but get no closer than 11-3.
Nick Harsh batted 2-for-4 with an RBI Single and a run scored to lead Louisville. Tyler Adams also batted 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Jake Adams’ 2 Out, RBI single in the top of the fifth inning extended the game for the Leopards who avoided the run-rule.
GlenOak was led by lead-off hitter Myles Mazeke who batted 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a pair of RBIs, and a pair of runs scored. Tyler Barker was also a perfect 2-for-2 with with 2 runs batted in & 2 runs scored, Davis Bianchi drove in 2 runs, and Aaron Miller went 2-for 3 with an RBI.
Chad Andzrecyck recorded the victory on the rubber for the Golden Eagles. He pitched 5 innings, gave up 2 runs on 6 hits, and struck out 5. Isaac Mathie also worked three scoreless frames on the hill for the Leopards.
GlenOak has now defeated Louisville in 5 straight meetings in the series.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Leopards will next host the North Canton Hoover Vikings on Monday, April 4 at 5:00 PM. JV will be on the road at Hoover at the same time.

The Leopards JV Squad swept the Golden Eagles in a home double header Saturday. With the victories, Louisville improves to 5-0 on the year.
Game 1: Louisville 13, GlenOak 6
Every player in the LHS lineup tallied a hit as the Leopards pounded out 13 hits as a team. Cam Prasco, Brandon Wahl, Zack Yadrnak, and Bryce Zuppe all had multi-hit games to lead Louisville. Brendon Hoffman also drove in 3 runs and both Jack Davis & Yadrnak recorded 2 RBIs a piece.
The Leopards stole 12 bases for the game. Zuppe had a game-high 4 steals and Anthony Carpico also stole 3 bases. Davis, Carpico, and Zuppe all scored 3 runs each as well.
Dillon English pitched 5 innings, surrendered 1 earned run on 9 hits, and struck out 5 to pick up the victory on the hill. Prasco also held the Golden Eagles scoreless in the final two frames while striking out 4.
Game 2: Louisville 11, GlenOak 10
Louisville withstood a furious seventh inning GlenOak rally to hold on for an 11-10 win in Game 2 of Saturday’s Double Header.
Dillon Deckerd led the Leopards by batting a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI & a run scored. Drew Doerschuk also went 2-for-4 with a double, Anthony Carpico cracked a triple & scored 2 runs, and Bryce Zuppe hit a double & drove in 2 runs.
Louisville used a 7-run fifth to take an 11-5 lead, but the Golden Eagles scored 5 runs in the top of the seventh to trim the Leopard lead to a single run. Cam Prasco would pick up the save for Louisville after he struckout two GlenOak batters to close the game.
Starter Zack Yadrnak earned the win on the mound for the Leopards and struck out 5.

The Leopards Freshman Team split a twin bill with the visiting Golden Eagles Saturday at LHS. Louisville is now 3-2 on the season.
Game 1: Louisville 7, GlenOak 6
Max Hartline fell just a home run short of the cycle as he batted 3-for-4 with a double, triple, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored to lead the Leopards. His RBI single tied the game in the bottom of the sixth before Caleb Prasco walked with the bases loaded to put the Leopards up 7-6.
Cameron Lingle retired 3 of the 4 batters he face in picking up the save in the top of the seventh for Louisville. Andrew Gray struck out 7 in working four innings and Jacob Hansen picked up the victory.
Conner Birone also went 3-for-3 at the dish with 2 runs scored and Jackson Kandel was also perfect at the plate batting 2-for-2.
Game 2: GlenOak 10, Louisville 5
The Golden Eagles used a 10-run third inning to rip open the game before doubling up the Leopards 10-5.
Ethan Morley batted 2-for-2 with an RBI and Caleb Prasco drove in a pair of runs to lead Louisville. Cameron Lingle also blasted a triple in the contest.
