Baseball Surrenders NBC Title to West Branch 12-2

The Louisville Leopard Varsity Baseball team fell to the host West Branch Warriors 12-2 in 6 Innings Friday Evening at WBHS. With the loss, Louisville ends the season with a 17-12 record overall and finishes third in the NBC with a record of 10-4.

The Leopards fell behind 8-0 before scoring twice in the top of the fifth. Brock Haren would finish 2-for-2 Beatty's Sports Louisville Leopards Baseball Shirt 2015with a double to lead Louisville. He singled to left field in the fifth and an error allowed Dalton Deckerd to come home on the play. Haren would score via Marco Buccasso’s single to center two batters later.

The Warriors dominated the rest of the game pounding out 12 runs on 17 hits, which included 6 triples. Hunter Steele led West Branch by batting 3-for-4 with a pair of triples and 4 runs batted in. Kip DeShields also batted 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and Matt Meiter also finished 3-for-4 with two triples.

West Branch is now 20-7 overall and finishes 12-2 in the NBC. This is the Warriors fourth NBC Title and their first outright crown since 1997. West Branch shared the league title with Canton South and Marlington a season ago.

The Louisville Leopards JV Baseball team complete their perfect 14-0 run through the NBC with a “walk-off” 13-12 win over the visiting West Branch Warriors Friday. With the win, Louisville finishes the season with an overall record of 22-3.

Brody Hahn batted 4-for-5 with a double, 4 runs scored, and an RBI to lead the Leopards. Cameron White & Corey White both batted 2-for-4 with 3 runs batted in each and Nathan Mongiardo also had 2 RBIs.

On the hill, Brennan Seemann pitched the final three innings, gave up 1 run on 2 hits, and struck out 5 in earning the victory. Seemann also scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh when Casey Nau walked with the bases loaded.
