Baseball Slips Into Tie for First After Win at Carrollton

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team finished what they started to earn a 12-3 victory over the host Carrollton Warriors Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville improves to 15-8 overall and enters into a tie for first place with West Branch with a 9-2 NBC record.

Adam Nyland batted 5-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBIs to lead the Leopards. Jake Beatty's Sports Louisville Leopards Baseball Shirt 2015Adams & Stephen Kerzan each had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs a piece for Louisville as well.

On the mound, Adams started the first four frames and improved to 4-0. Paul Howard also pitched the final three scoreless innings to earn the svae.

Reis Rankin also had 3 hits, Dalton Deckerd had 2 hits, and Joe Crank scored 3 times.

The Leopards JV Squad earned a 3-2 extra inning victory over the visiting Carrollton Warriors Tuesday. With the win, Louisville is now 19-3 overall and 11-0 against NBC foes.

Carson Davis pitched the first 8 innings, gave up just 1 earned run on 2 hits, and struck out 11 to lead the Leopards. Trevor Burk also pitched the final two scoreless frames to pick up the win on the mound.

Nathan Mongiardo batted 3-for-4 with an RBI single in the fourth and 2 runs scored to lead Louisville offensively. Mongiardo came home via an overthrow in the bottom of the tenth to lift Leopards to victory. Brennan Seemann also singled home Mongiardo in the eighth inning to extend the game at 2-2.

Brendon Hoffman also had 3 hits and Tyler Croxton had a pair of singles for Louisville.
