Baseball Forces Split with Minerva, Finishes 8-5 in NBC
Louisville 6, Minerva 4
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team secured a second place finish in the NBC with a 6-4 victory over the host 
Minerva Lions Friday Evening at Carl Michael Field. With the victory, Louisville improves to 12-15 overall and finishes 9-5 in NBC play.
Cam White batted 2-for-2 and drove in 3 runs to lead the Leopards. White drove home Corey White in the fourth inning to get Louisville on the board first. He later delivered a 2-run single to kick-start the Leopards sixth inning rally. Reis Rankin also drove in a run and Tyler Adams had a 2-run single as part of Louisville’s 5-run sixth.
On the hill, Isaac Mathie (3-3) started the first 5 innings, gave up 2 runs on 9 hits, and struck out 2 to earn the victory for the Leopards. Mathie also had 2 of Louisville’s 7 hits on offense.
Minerva was led by Danny Common who batted 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Cody 
Long also batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and Jack Hanley finished 2-for-4. The Lions out-hit the Leopards 11-7 in the loss.
With the win, Louisville finishes alone in second place in the NBC. Minerva finishes .500 in the league in a third place tie with Canton South, Carrollton, and West Branch. FINAL NBC BASEBALL STANDINGS
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next conclude the season when they travel to Perry to take on the Panthers on Saturday, May 14 at 7:00 PM. JV & Freshman will both be at home against Perry at 1:00 PM Saturday.
