Baseball Falls to NBC Top Dog Dukes 9-2
Marlington 9, Louisville 2
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team fell to first place Marlington Dukes 9-2 Tuesday Evening 
at Louisville High School. With the loss, Louisville falls to 1-4 on the season with an 0-2 mark in league play.
Isaac Mathie led the Leopards by batting 2-for-3 with an RBI Single in the seventh inning that scored Stephen Kerzan. Mathie also singled in the fifth inning which advanced Tyler Adams to third base. This setup Brock Haren, who singled home Adams in the next at-bat.
Marlington Pitcher Brock Begue picked up the victory by pitching a complete game, giving up just 1 
earned run on 5 hits, and striking out 11. Adams and Dalton Deckerd had the other base hits for Louisville.
The Dukes were led offensively by lead-off hitter Zach Dezenzo who batted 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and 3 runs scored. Jaryd Creager also had 3 hits, Austin Hershberger tallied 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Begue recorded a pair of singles for Marlington.

Freshman: Postponed to April 15 at 5:00
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next finish their suspended game against the Alliance Aviators when they host them on Wednesday, April 13 at 4:30 PM. Following that contest, the schedule Alliance at Louisville Varsity home game will be played. JV will be on the road at Alliance during the same time.

The Leopards JV Team demolished the Dukes 11-1 in 5 Innings Tuesday. With the victory, Louisville improves their perfect mark to 7-0 overall and 4-0 against NBC competition.
Brendon Hoffman’s 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth clinched the run-rule victory for the Leopards. Dillon English and Bryce Zuppe also each had a pair of RBIs to lead Louisville. Dillon Deckerd had the only multi-hit game for the Leopards as he pounded out 2 of the Leopards 10 hits as a team.
On the hill, Cam Prasco (2-1) pitched a complete game, gave up 1 earned run on 7 hits, and struck out 8 to pick up the win for Louisville.
The Dukes were led by Alex Stertzbach who went 2-for-3. Marlington’s only run of the evening came when Jake Thomas singled in Colton Wade in the top of the fourth.
