The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team experienced a bit of deja vu Thursday as they defeated the host Salem Quakers 11-1 in 5 innings. The score and number of innings played was identical to the previous matchup between the two teams when they met on Tuesday. With the win, Louisville improves to 13-8 overall and 8-2 in league play.

The Leopards were led by Tyler Adams who batted 2-for-3 with a triple, a pair of runs scored, and a pair of RBIs. Dalton Deckerd also drove in 2 runs & scored 2 runs, Adam Nyland cracked 2 doubles, and Marco Buccasso finished with 2 hits & 2 runs scored to highlight Louisville’s 10-hit evening.

On the mound, Krisztian Toth earned the first victory of his Varsity career. He pitched four innings, gave up just 1 run on 1 hit, and struck out 4 for the Leopards. Buccasso also pitched a 1-2-3 fifth to clinch the run-rule victory.

Louisville has won all 8 games against Salem since the Quakers joined the NBC in the 2012 season.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Perry to take on the Panthers on Friday, May 1 at 7:00 PM. JV and Freshman will also host Perry at 5:00 PM on Friday as well.

The Leopards JV Squad also downed the visiting Quakers 11-1 in 5 Innings of play. With the win, Louisville improves to 16-3 overall and 10-0 against NBC teams.

Carson Davis led the Leopards by batting 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. Dillon Deckerd and Drew Dyer also each drove in a pair of runs and Chase Lautzenheiser finished with 2 hits which including his game-clinching RBI single in the fifth.

On the hill, Brody Hahn pitched all five innings, gave up 0 earned runs on 3 hits, and struck out 5 for Louisville.
