Baseball Downed By McKinley in Scrimmage After Late Rally
Canton McKinley 8, Louisville 3
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team fell to the visiting Canton McKinley Bulldogs 8-3 in a scrimmage on the windy LHS campus Wednesday.
Louisville’s only three runs of the contest came in the opening inning. Tyler Adams led off with a triple and Joe Crank brought him home via a sacrifice fly. Later on, Krisztian Toth reached base via an error allowing both Jake Adams and Dalton Deckerd to come home safely to put the Leps ahead 3-2.
Strong pitching led by Issac Mathie, who struck out 3, helped Louisville keep that slim edge heading into the sixth inning. However, the Bulldogs rallied to score three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to take the contest.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next open up the season at Dover on Saturday, March 28 at 12:00 PM. JV will be home at the same time, as will Freshman who will be hosting the Tornadoes in a double header.
