Alliance Defeats Louisville to Claim NBC Outright

J.J. Kukura poured in a game-high 31 points to lead the Alliance Aviators past the visiting Louisville Leopards 57-45 Friday evening at Harry Fails Gymnasium. With the victory, Alliance claimed their Second Outright NBC Title in three seasons. With the loss, Louisville falls to 11-8 overall and 8-6 in the NBC.

Blake Hoover led the Leopards by recording a double-double that featured 19 points and 13 Beatty's Sports Leopard Hoodierebounds. Joe Crank also hit 3 three-pointers at the start of the game and dished out 4 assists. Jake Pukys recorded a game-high 7 assists and Bryce Mathie scored 6.

The teams exchanged 4 three-pointers each in the opening quarter that saw Louisville jump ahead 16-14. The key to the ball game came when Alliance used a 17-0 run from the final three minutes of the second quarter until midway through the third quarter in taking a 40-26 advantage.

Alliance made 10 three-pointers during the contest led by Kukura who hit 5. Parrish Martin also hit 3 three-pointers & scored 12 points, Kordelle Phillips scored 11 points and tallied 5 assists, and Dale Dickson snagged 4 steals. The Aviators are now 16-2 overall and a perfect 13-0 in conference play.
