Leopards Comeback Bid Falls Short Against Aviators – JV Football
Alliance 30, Louisville 24
The Louisville Leopards JV Football Team fell to the Alliance Aviators 30-24 Saturday Morning at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville falls to 2-3 overall and 2-1 against NBC foes this season.
Quarterback Carter Rode threw 3 touchdown passes and ran in another to lead the Leopards offense. Elijah Wilkes was the recipient of 2 of those touchdowns from 15 and 3 yards out. Dominic Mongiardo caught the game’s first score on a 16 yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Rode scored on the ground from 5 yards out for the final score of the contest with 2:12 left in the third quarter.
The Aviators were led by Runningback Noah Durst-Hawkins who ran for three touchdowns and also scored on a pair of conversion runs. Ire Williams caught the other Alliance touchdown on a 35 yard jump ball in the endzone via Quarterback Brandon Alexander. Micah Hicks rounded out the Aviator scoring with an additional conversion run.
On defense, Leopards Defensive Lineman Austin Griggy dominated early on in stopping the Aviators for a loss twice and forcing a fumble. The loose ball was recovered by Rode as Alliance was driving in Louisville territory. Nick Granitsas and Austin Cummings both had tackles for a loss for the Leopards defense as well. Cole White also ended an Aviator scoring threat with a huge hit for a sack on 4th down later in the game.
The Alliance defense forced a pair of takeaways and got a big break on a high snap. Defensive Backs J’dynn Seals and Kentayvion Stovall each intercepted passes for the Aviators.
