Quarterback Tyler Jackson threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for two others to lead the Leopards offense. Jackson scored on a 4 yard touchdown run to knot the game early at 6-6 and later ran in a game-clinching 5 yard touchdown run that gave Louisville a a two touchdown lead in the fourth quarter. Jackson also connected with Jake House for a 25 yard touchdown pass and Andy Larson for a 24 Yard touchdown strike.

A 7 yard touchdown run by Brady Vanover put Louisville ahead 18-6 by halftime. The Leopards would expand their lead to 26-6 early in the third period after Larson’s touchdown grab and a two-point conversion run by Daniel Kennedy.

Alliance seized momentum next for a pair of third quarter scores. Quarterback Brandon Alexander led the comeback in throwing a 21 yard touchdown pass to Trevaughn Hawkins, scoring on a conversion run, and running into the endzone from 3 yards away a little later to cut the Louisville lead to 26-20. Alexander also scored in the opening quarter on a 10 yard touchdown run for the Aviators.

However, the Aviators celebration was short lived as the Leopards recorded their third takeaway of the game on the very next play. Alliance attempted a short pass into the flat, but Louisville’s Austin Stauffer tipped the pass at the line sending it into the air as a lame duck. JD Spitaleri snagged it at the Louisville 48 to halt the Aviators momentum.

Spitaleri also helped force an earlier turnover on special teams by stripping the Alliance kick returner. Kennedy fell on it for the Leopards on the Aviators 25 yard line. That setup a 1-play scoring drive and the Jackson to House aerial score to give Louisville their first lead at 12-6. Kennedy was a magnet to the ball and also recorded a second takeaway by picking off a pass just before halftime.

The Leopards defense shutdown Alliance over the final 11 minutes of the contest to preserve the win. Tony Brahler, J.D. Tebaldi, and Vanover all recorded sacks for Louisville. Brahler also finished with 3 other tackles for a loss.

Dylan Bugara and Keegan Meadows also picked off passes for the Aviators defense.
