Louisville Flattens Firestone 63-52 – Boys Basketball

Louisville 63, Akron Firestone 52

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Akron Firestone Falcons 63-52 Friday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 4-2 on the year.

Spencer Hall scored 8 of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Leopards. Hall dominated on the boards and also had multiple blocks on defense. Jared Mathie also finished in double digits with 13 and Jimmy Wright hit a pair of three-balls to tally 8 for LHS.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdLouisville trailed 5-2 a minute into the contest before taking their first lead when Hall scored while being fouled on a put-back to make it 6-5 Leopards. Louisville never trailed again as they took a 19-15 at the end of one and pulled ahead 32-26 by the break. The two teams battled back and forth in what was a relatively even second half. The Leopards took a 45-37 lead into the fourth quarter and outscored the Falcons 18-15 in the final stanza to seal the win.

Akron Firestone (4-3) was led by Justice Lane who made 2 three-pointers and scored a team-high 12. Lane is the son of former NBA player Jerome Lane who was in attendance on the Falcons bench. George Clemis and Zaire Singleton also scored 11 points each.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Canton McKinley Bulldogs on Tuesday, December 15. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
