The Louisville Leopards 8th Grade Football Team scored 24 points in the second quarter and rolled past the visiting Alliance Aviators 40-6 Wednesday evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
Louisville held Alliance scoreless through the first three quarters and scored touchdowns on offense and special teams. The Leopards improved to 3-0 with the victory.

Dente Scores Three Touchdowns Three Different Ways
Gavin Dente found the end zone as a runner, passer and punt returner to lead the Louisville scoring attack.
Following a scoreless opening quarter, Dente broke free for a 60-yard touchdown run with 4:17 remaining in the first half. Liam Beltz connected with Cy Griffith on the conversion pass to give the Leopards an 8-0 lead.
Dente turned passer on Louisville’s next scoring play, finding Griffith for a 68-yard touchdown with 1:13 remaining. Easton Beard ran in the conversion to extend the Leopard advantage to 16-0.
Dente completed his touchdown trifecta on special teams in the third quarter. He returned a punt 40 yards to the end zone with 4:13 remaining in the period. Jaxon Norris added the conversion run to increase Louisville’s lead to 32-0. With the mercy rule invoked, the clock ran the rest of the way.
Leopards Score Three Times in Final 4:17 of First Half
Louisville entered the final five minutes of the second quarter locked in a scoreless tie before erupting for three touchdowns in the final 4:17.
Dente’s 60-yard run and 68-yard touchdown pass accounted for the first two scores. The Leopards struck once more before halftime when Beltz connected with Greggory Tice III for a 26-yard touchdown pass with only 14 seconds remaining.
Beard followed with his second conversion run of the quarter, sending Louisville into the locker room with a commanding 24-0 advantage.
Geer Extends Louisville Lead in Fourth Quarter
The Leopards added their fifth and final touchdown with 4:28 remaining in the fourth quarter. Brandon Geer scored on a 13-yard run before Norris crossed the goal line for his second conversion run, giving Louisville a 40-0 lead.
Five different Leopards contributed directly to Louisville’s touchdowns. Dente scored twice and threw for another, while Griffith, Tice, and Geer each reached the end zone.
Beltz threw a touchdown pass and a conversion pass. Beard and Norris each ran for two conversions.
Leopards Hold Alliance Scoreless Through Three Quarters
The Louisville defense kept the Aviators off the scoreboard throughout the first three quarters.
Hartsoe Connects with Guy Late to Breakup Shutout
Alliance’s lone takeaway came with the game still scoreless early in the second quarter. Amari Hartsoe intercepted a pass at the Aviator 30 with 7:24 remaining, but Louisville recovered to score 24 unanswered points before halftime.
Hartsoe later helped Alliance avoid the shutout when he connected with Malique Guy for a 64-yard touchdown pass during the fourth quarter. The score produced the final 40-6 margin.
UP NEXT: The 8th Grade Leopards will next host the Massillon Tigers on Wednesday, September 9. Game time is set for 5:00 PM from Louisville Leopards Stadium.
