The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team defeated the visiting No. 7-ranked University School Preppers 13-5 Saturday afternoon at Andy Aljancic Field. With the victory, Louisville improves to 4-3 on the season.

West Main Vet Clinic AdZander Triplett drove in four runs on four hits to lead Louisville Varsity Leopards past University School Varsity Preppers 13-5 on Saturday at Louisville High School. Triplett doubled in the fifth scoring two, singled in the sixth scoring two, and singled in the second scoring one.

Louisville Varsity Leopards got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Cody Zahler singled down the left field line, and University School Varsity Preppers committed an error, each scoring one run.

University School Varsity Preppers tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a single by Johnathan Pleasant, a walk by Deacon Nelson, and a fly out by Jack Nelson.

Louisville Varsity Leopards took the lead in the bottom of the third. Caden Kortis hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to give Louisville Varsity Leopards the advantage, 4-3.

Trevor Burick opened the game for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher gave up four hits and five runs over five innings, striking out three and walking six. Crew Bellan opened the game for University School Varsity Preppers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Grayson Brunoni pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Louisville Varsity Leopards in relief. The hurler allowed one hit, striking out none and walking none.

Louisville Varsity Leopards piled up 14 hits in the game. Zahler, Max Roberts, and Kortis each collected multiple hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Jake Beard and John Baker led the team with two bases on balls each. Kortis stole four bases. Louisville Varsity Leopards stole eight bases in the game.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdNelson and Nelson were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for University School Varsity Preppers. Nelson, Nelson, Nolan Wujnovich, Pleasant, and Bellan each collected one hit for University School Varsity Preppers. James Bucci paced University School Varsity Preppers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.

Louisville Varsity Leopards play at home on Thursday against Howland in their next game.
