The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the visiting Lutheran West Longhorns, 67-31 Friday night at Louisville High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 8-10 on the season.

Rogers Leads Leopards with Team-High 13
Cohen Rogers scored 7 of his team-high 13 points in the first half to lead the Leopards. Louisville trailed 10-5 after one and kept the game within 23-16 before Lutheran West broke it open with an 11-0 run to end the first half. Rogers also made the Leopards’ only 2 three-pointers in the game, accounting for all 6 of Louisville’s fourth-quarter points.
Brandon Sanders scored 4 of his 6 points from the free throw line. Jake Baker and Colton Dougherty tacked on 4 points each. Drake Wilson and Cody Zahler also scored a field goal apiece.
Davis Scores Game-High 17 to Lead Longhorns
Josiah Davis scored 13 of his game-high 17 points in the opening half to lead the Longhorns. Lutheran West opened up a 34-16 lead at the break and also doubled up Louisville by the end of the third quarter, 50-25. The Longhorns finished off the Leopards by holding a 17-6 advantage in the fourth quarter. Aiden Monroe scored all of his 13 points in the final three periods.
Davis also made 2 of Lutheran West’s 9 three-pointers in the game. Dom Burns knocked down a game-high 3 three-pointers and finished in double figures with 11. Chase Kuszmaul also made a pair of three-pointers and tallied 8.
Ten different Longhorns entered the scoring column. Marquis Capers and Jad Eid scored 4 each. Malik Boykins and Jordan Custis added 3 each. Gregory Linn and Jayden Taylor rounded out the Lutheran West scoring with 2 apiece.
The Longhorns have now won 4 of their last 5 games, with their lone loss in that stretch coming in a 60-54 home defeat to No. 6-ranked St. Ignatius. Lutheran West is now 8-6 on the season.
This was the first-ever meeting between the Leopards and the Longhorns in boys basketball.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders on Tuesday, February 10. JV will begin at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM from Louisville High School.
