The Louisville Leopards topped the Toronto Red Knights 66-44 Saturday evening as part of the Todd Kalivoda Holiday Showcase held at Toronto High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 5-3 on the season.

Rogers Pours in Game-High 18, Named MVP for Leps

West Main Vet Clinic AdCohen Rogers scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the opening half as the Leopards opened up a 32-25 lead at the half. He hit his second three-pointer of the game and finished with 5 points in a third quarter that saw Louisville outscore Toronto 20-4 to take a 52-29 lead into the final stanza. The Leopards would hold all but one point of that margin the rest of the way.

Rogers also recorded 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block. He was recognized as team MVP after the game and presented with a keepsake for the honor.


Twelve Different Louisville Players Score in Win

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdCody Zahler scored 8 of his 10 points in the second half to reach double figures.

Luke Boldon and Drake Wilson also scored 8 points and recorded 2 steals each. Boldon scored all of his 8 points in the second quarter. Wilson added 3 assists and buried 4-of-4 free throws in the second quarter.

Louisville out-rebounded Toronto 31-22 for the game. Colten Norris led the Leopards in rebounds with 7, while also contributing 5 points and 2 assists. Colton Dougherty snagged 5 boards, dished out a game-high 4 assists, and scored 2 points. Cayden Balcomb also added 4 points and secured 3 caroms.

Twelve different Louisville players scored altogether. Gabe Stoffer buried a three-pointer in the opening quarter and also finished with 3 assists. Jake Baker, Blake Carr, Noah Ickes, and Chase Wilson all scored baskets as LHS emptied the bench with a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter.

The Leopards outshot the Red Knights 57% (27 of 47) to 36% (19 of 53) from the floor. Both teams were perfect from the free throw line, with Louisville converting all seven attempts.


Buchanan Scores Team-High 12 as Toronto’s MVP

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdAustin Buchanan scored 7 of his team-high 12 points in the second half to lead Toronto. He also recorded 5 rebounds, registered a game-high 4 assists, and hit a three-pointer. Buchanan was named Toronto’s team MVP following the contest.

Colt Joynson also scored 9 points, led his team in rebounds with 6, dished out 3 assists, and tallied 2 steals. Brady Fair added 7 points to go along with 3 assists.

Landon Grimes and Brody Winters finished with 6 points each. Grimes scored all of his points in the fourth quarter and also had 2 steals. Winters scored all of his points in the first half, matched Joynson with a team-leading 6 rebounds, and also registered a block. Max Rebich rounded out the Red Knight scoring with 4 points.

The loss snaps Toronto’s two-game winning streak as they drop to 6-2 on the season.

This marked the first-ever boys basketball meeting between the Leopards and Red Knights.
