Louisville Earns 2-0 Shutout in Regular Season Finale at Cuyahoga Falls – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 road victory over the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers Thursday night at Lambert Stadium. With the win, Louisville finishes the regular season at 7-7-2, while Cuyahoga Falls drops to 3-12.

Mayle and Burton Score Unassisted Goals to Build 2-0 Lead
The Leopards struck twice in the first half and never looked back. Sophomore Maddox Mayle opened the scoring with an unassisted goal to give Louisville a 1-0 advantage. Later in the first half, senior Carter Burton added a second unassisted goal to extend the lead to 2-0.
Keister Records Clean Sheet for Leopards
From there, Louisville’s defense took care of the rest. The Leopards held the Black Tigers scoreless the remainder of the way to secure the shutout win.
Junior goalkeeper Justin Keister earned the shutout in goal, his fourth of the season. All four clean sheets have come in the last eight games and the Leopards’ defense will look to continue this trend in the tournament.
Louisville Vs. Cuyahoga Falls Boys Soccer Series
The Leopards are now 3-1 against the Black Tigers all-time, which includes a 2-0 record when playing on the road at Cuyahoga Falls. The Leopards defeated the Black Tigers 4-1 in their first meeting in 2017 and also shut out Cuyahoga Falls 5-0 in 2023. The Black Tigers’ lone victory was a 3-1 win at Louisville last season.
Cuyahoga Falls has now lost five straight matches overall and has been shutout in their last three games by a combined count of 15-0. The Black Tigers drop to 3-12 on the season with the loss.

JV: Louisville 4, Cuyahoga Falls 0
The Louisville JV squad also picked up a dominant win, shutting out Cuyahoga Falls 4-0. The Leopards exploded for three first-half goals and added another after the break to secure their second victory of the season.
Dom Collier opened the scoring off an assist from Parker Daum, who followed with a goal of his own. Daum added a second assist on Noah Papai’s first-half strike to make it 3-0. In the second half, Brennan Schwab capped off the win with a goal assisted by Drew Lindner.
Mason Ivey earned his second straight shutout in goal for Louisville and his fourth on the season overall.
JV: Louisville 2, Dover 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys JV Soccer Team earned a 2-1 road victory at Dover in its season finale Saturday. With the victory, Louisville finishes with a final record of 3-9-4.
Parker Daum scored on a first half penalty kick to get the Leopards on the board first. The Tornadoes answered with a goal before halftime to knot the game at 1-1.
Mason Overcasher delivered the game-winning goal with just minutes to play in the game to lift Louisville past Dover 2-1.
After going winless through their first 11 matches, the Leopards JV team closed the season strong—finishing unbeaten in their final five contests with three wins and two draws.
