Louisville Earns 3-0 Shutout Win at Copley to Even Season Record – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team shutout the host Copley Indians 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Copley-Fairlawn Stadium. With their third straight victory, Louisville evens its record at 6-6-1 on the season.

Mayle Scores Twice in 1st Half
Maddox Mayle scored the game’s opening goal and final goal all in the first half to lead the Leopards. Brandon Sanders and Carter Burton provided the assists on Maddox’s scores as Louisville took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Burton added the other goal in-between via an assist from Cale Lindner.
Keister and Ivey Combine for Shutout
Leopard starting goalkeeper Justin Keister earned his third shutout of the season for the Leopards and second in three games. He kept the net clean before being relieved for sophomore goalkeeper Mason Ivey with about ten minutes remaining. Keister also recorded a shutout in another 3-0 victory against Tallmadge last Saturday. This is also his second road shutout of the season as he kept Marlington scoreless in a 0-0 draw the Saturday before last.
First Meeting with Copley Since 2008
This is only the second meeting between the Leopards and Indians all-time. Copley won the only other meeting at Louisville 6-0 on August 23, 2008.
The Indians were riding a two-game winning streak coming into the contest, but fall to 4-9 with the loss.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team will next host the Perry Panthers on Saturday, October 4. JV will begin at 1:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 3:00 PM from Louisville Leopards Stadium.
