The Louisville Leopards upended the visiting Northwest Indians 9-0 in their final dress rehearsal Thursday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the shutout victory, Louisville finishes the preseason with a record of 4-5-2.

Burton Scores 5 Goals to Lead Leopards

Carter Burton registered a hat trick in the first half and added two more goals in the second half to lead Louisville. He scored the first two goals of the scrimmage within the first eight minutes via assists from Kadan Swope and Will Pochubay. He would also score unassisted for the final goal of the opening half with 1:44 remaining as the Leopards roared into the break with a 5-0 advantage.

Burton would tack on two more goals within the first nine minutes of the second half to put Louisville ahead 8-0. Dominic Porter-Kovacich and Nick Johnston provided the assists on those scores. Head Coach Jared Komo pulled many of the starters out following that as the clock ran non-stop the rest of the way.


Johnston and Mayle Score Two Goals Each

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdBoth Nick Johnston and Maddox Mayle tallied a pair of goals each for the Leopards. The duo scored back-to-back goals in the opening half via passes from Raiden Lidner and Damien Lowder.

Johnston opened the scoring in the second half by tallying a goal just 62 seconds out of halftime via an Pochubay’s second assist of the evening. Mayle added Louisville’s final goal in the 50th minute off Johnston’s second assist of the night to make it 9-0.


Foradis and Keister Combine for Shutout

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdGoalkeepers Giovanni Foradis and Justin Keister combined for the shutout in goal for the Leopards. Foradis held the Indians scoreless in the first half and Keister sealed the shutout after working the second half.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will open up the regular season on the road against the Salem Quakers on Tuesday, August 20. JV will begin at 5:00 PM with Varsity following at 7:00 PM from Sebo Stadium.
