My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Northwest Indians 64-43 in the second game of a co-ed double header Saturday Evening at Louisville High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 13-5 on the season.


Nigro & Aljancic Lead Leopards Offense

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSophomore guard Hayden Nigro made 3 three-pointers and poured in a game high 20 points to lead the Leopards. Junior guard Will Aljancic also made 4 three-pointers and finished with 19. Freshman post Brayden Gross scored all 8 of his points in the second half and senior guard Tyler Boldon also finished with 4 points to round out the top Louisville scorers. 

The Leopards never trailed in the game taking an 8-3 lead at the start. Louisville used a 13-0 first quarter run to pull ahead 21-5 before Northwest scored the final bucket of the opening quarter to cut their deficit to 21-7.

Jenny Can Cleaning AdNigro opened up the second quarter with a three-pointer from the left wing and the Leopards continued to roll. They outscored the Indians 14-10 in the second stanza to more than double up Northwest at the break 35-17.

Louisville continued to extend their advantage in the second half. The Leopards outscored the Indians 16-14 in the third quarter and 13-12 in the fourth quarter to coast to a comfortable victory.


Stokes and Goddard Finish in Double Figures

The Indians were led by junior point guard/small forward Ray Stokes who scored a team high 11 points. Senior forward Alex Goddard also reached double digits with 10 and sophomore forward Ian Ziegler finished with 9 for Northwest

The Leopards have now taken 2 of the last 3 against the Indians in their most recent series of games together, with the home team winning all three games. Louisville is now 32-23 against Northwest all-time dating back to their first known meeting in the 1959 tournament.
