Louisville Sweeps Canton South on Senior Night – Track and Field

The Louisville Boys Track Team celebrated our two seniors, Dale Stauffer and Lucas Smith, as we defeated the Canton South Wildcats in dual meet action last night.

Girls: Louisville 81, Canton South 47

The Louisville Girls’ Track Team played host to the Wildcats of Canton South High School. Four senior athletes paced the team to a victory, by a score of 81-47. Senior, Emma Springer started out the meet with a win in the Long Jump with a leap of 15′ 8″. Then she returned to the track with fellow senior Gabby Smith, Ma’Ryah Hargrove and Brooke Adams to capture another victory in the 4 x 100 relay. Smith then teamed up with Hargrove, Jenna Oglesbee and Molly Simpson to notch her second win of the day in the 4 x 200 relay. Senior distance runner, Caitlyn Gatta then tied her season best time in the 1600 meter run to earn the Leopards another victory. Springer also earned two seconds in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. In the field events, senior thrower, Haley Ramsey was able to notch a second place finish throwing a lifetime best of 30′ 10″. She then went on to also place third in the the discus with a toss of 83’9″

Congratulations to our four seniors on a fantastic career as a Louisville track athlete. You all have represented our school well and have always competed with passion.

Other wins were turned in by Ma’Ryah Hargrove in the 100 and 200, Marisa Brown in the 400; Diana Pukys in the 800; and the 4 x 400 relay team of Gretchen Kiko, Jenna Oglesbee, Landyn Scheetz, Marisa Brown.

Other Second place finishers were: Brooke Adams 100 and 300 Hurdles; Diana Pukys 1600; Taylor Dimerling 800; and Chloe Cole 3200.

Other Third place finishers were: Abby Glaspell 100 hurdles, Jenna Oglesbee 100 and 200 meters, Bailey Menegay 1600 and 800 meters; Molly Simpson 400 meters and High Jump; Landyn Scheetz 300 Hurdles; Josie Rigdon 3200 meters, Pukys Long Jump, and Sloane Sypolt Shot Put.
