Leopards Shutout Aviators 5-0 to Finish Season 16-3

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team blanked the visiting Alliance Aviators 5-0 Wednesday in their regular season finale at Louisville High School. The Lady Leopards finish with their most wins since the 2013 season with a final mark of 16-3.
All three singles players recorded a bagel during their two set victories. Rachel Kibler and Sherilynn Mullett only surrendered a single match game in their matchups. Kibler took #1 singles by a 6-1, 6-0 count. Mullett, who was moved up in the lineup to #2 singles from her usual #3 singles position, won 6-0, 6-1. Carleen Fouts also dominated in her singles debut by winning her #3 singles match 6-2, 6-0.
Both Leopards doubles teams also won in straight sets. Amanda Plaskett and Jade Thomas won #1 doubles 6-3, 6-3. In #2 doubles, Senior Isabelle Menegay left her typical #2 singles position to play her final home match with her sister Bailey Menegay in #2 doubles. The Menegay sisters won their final regular season match together 6-1, 6-3.
Louisville has now defeated Alliance in 55 of their past 56 matches overall dating back to the 1979 season. The Lady Leopards finish the decade 17-0 against the Lady Aviators during a span in which they’ve won 21 straight matches in the series overall. Louisville is now 56-3 against Alliance all-time with this being their 44th shutout of AHS in the series.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next compete at the Division I Sectional Tournament held at Jackson Park. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds will be at held on Tuesday, October 1 starting at 9:00 AM. The Quarterfinals will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 3:30 PM and the Semifinals and Finals will start at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 5.
